Convoluted "Egg Crate" Foam Layer

Inside of our Airbeds is a layer of convoluted foam also known as "Egg Crate" foam. Originally developed for use in hospitals to relieve bedsores, convoluted foam has many beneficial attributes.

The foam "cradles" your body in comfort by contouring to your shape. This relieves pressure points, provides outstanding comfort and reduces tossing and turning. Your body weight is evenly distributed.

In addition, air can circulate throughout the indentations in the foam, which maximizes sleeping comfort.

Our Airbeds are constructed so that the layer of Convoluted Foam can be removed and rotated in order to extend the life of the mattress. Also, after many years of use, the Convoluted Foam layer can be replaced in order to extend the life of the mattress. Other Airbeds have the foam quilted or sewn into the top so that it cannot be rotated or replaced.
